Best 2023/4 Tours And Safaris

Meet one of Africa’s “Big Five” – the rare rhinoceros on a wilderness walk through the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park just upstream from the mighty Victoria Falls. Just upstream from the Victoria Falls lies the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, home to buffalo, impala, zebra, giraffe, warthog and the endangered white rhino. On a rhino walk, you get to come close to the amazing and sadly highly endangered white rhino. A 4 x 4 safari through the park takes guests to the position where the trackers located the Rhinos. Here guests receive a briefing by the guides regarding the procedures and safety aspects of the walk. Guests will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to walk near, to spend some quality time interacting (at a safe distance) with and photographing the rhino. Professional guides give commentary on the rhino as well as wildlife, flora and spore encountered during the walk. The walking segment is approximately 2 hours in duration. Guests are then transported to the picnic site reserved for the walking safaris where they are provided with Sandwiches and snacks. After the picnic guests are accompanied by guides to the park exit and transferred by vehicle back to their Livingstone Town.

Experience the Flight of Angels, an unforgettable helicopter flight over the spectacular Victoria Falls, Batoka Gorge, Zambezi River and the lush Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. With Batoka Sky, adventurers can choose from three magnificent scenic flights; the Short 15 minute Flight, the 22 minute Gorge Flight and the longer 30 minute Scenic Flight. Another incredible experience offered is the Gorge Picnic; chopper into the gorge for a delicious picnic lunch followed by a magnificent ascent out of the gorge and scenic flight around the Falls. The Batoka Gorge is the Gorge below the Victoria Falls where the Zambezi River flows towards the Indian Ocean. The Gorge is home to world-renowned rapids 13 to 21 which are rated amongst the most challenging and thrilling rapids on the planet. After an exciting days rafting, the steep climb out of the deep Gorge is a strenuous one for White Water Rafters. Batoka Sky have constructed helicopter landing pads at rapids 10, 21 and 25 to chopper rafters out of the Gorge. The fantastic cost saving rafting, helicopter combos provide an exhilarating ascent out of the Gorge back to Batoka Sky, or to the lodges further upstream.

Full Day Chobe Trip from Livingstone, Zambia. Enjoy game viewing in this iconic park. Chobe National Park is well known for its large herds of elephant that frequent the Chobe River on a daily basis. In the dry season an estimate of up to 85,000 elephants can be dispersed within the Chobe National Park, where the majority of them can be found along the river. Apart from the herds of elephants, Chobe also has lots more to offer. The Park has lion, leopard, buffalo and a whole host of antelope like sable, puku, kudu, eland, roan and many others which you can get to see. The river is filled with big pods of hippos and some of the biggest crocodiles in Africa. This tour departs daily to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. Clients will be transferred to the Kazungula border where their Botswana guide will meet them. They will proceed straight to the morning cruise where they will spend the morning game viewing along the Chobe River. The cruise will end at around 12h30 and clients will go to a hotel on the riverbank for lunch. After lunch, guests will board safari vehicles for an afternoon game drive in the Chobe National Park. Following this they will be taken back to the Kazungula Border where they will be met by their Zambian guide for their return transfer to Livingstone.

There is nothing quite like the heart-pounding sensation of actually standing on the edge of these magnificent falls and being drenched by the never ending spray.. But no matter how you decide to visit "The Smoke That Thunders" very few people are ever really prepared for the incredible beauty and mesmerising strength and power of the mighty Victoria Falls. The heart-pounding sensation of actually standing on the edge of the precipice above the raging Zambezi waters is something quite unforgettable. Spray from the pounding water rises more than 60 feet into the air before tumbling down to create 24 hours of solid rain... The Falls are literally at the end of the main street through the town centre. Of course the ever present 'Smoke' (rising spray) will very soon have you orientated as to its location. The edge of the falls is reached through the cool, moist tunnels of the rainforest. Always shrouded in fine spray, the forest is a fairyland of exotic plants thriving in the humidity. Concrete paths have been made to stop sightseers trampling away the lip of the gorge. Parts of the precipice opposite the falls have been cleared of undergrowth to give a clear view, but the falls can also be seen from the depths of the forest through glistening, dripping, spray soaked leaves. Come and experience this wonderful exhilarating moment.

The leisurely Zambezi River cruise is the ideal way to end your first day at Victoria Falls, catching a spectacular African sunset over the tranquil river and bush. We travel to the Zimbabwe border post (don't forget your passport) and once through there we head to the Botswana entry gate, stopping en route to step on a sanitized mat to prevent Foot and Mouth disease from entering the country. On arrival in Botswana, we transfer to an open safari vehicle for the trip to Chobe National Park and for game viewing in the park. We are headed for the northern section of the park, where the Chobe River forms the border in the north. Our adventure begins with a river cruise into the park providing an opportunity to view the many waders and animals that frequent the river banks, as this is a major watering spot, particularly in the dry season. This area is known for its dense woodland, which has attracted herds of elephants resulting in a huge elephant population, estimated to be about 50 000. We take a welcome lunch break at the recently renovated Chobe Game Lodge, where a buffet awaits us. A complimentary drink and tea or coffee are served with lunch. Feeling revived we set out on our afternoon game drive. Apart from the many elephants we are sure to see, we can expect to see up to 15 different animal species, including buffalo, giraffe, kudu, roan and sable, impala, warthog, bushbuck, monkeys, and baboons, along with the accompanying predators (lion, leopard, hyena, and jackal). Be sure to have your cameras ready and binoculars if you have them. It's also advisable to have sunscreen and a hat for this 3-hour game drive in the hot, afternoon sun. After our exciting Chobe Safari in Botswana, we head back to Victoria Falls in Zambia, through the border posts arriving at our hotel around 18:00. Day 3: Upper Zambezi Canoeing Trip – Zambia Get ready for an adventure-packed day at Victoria Falls in Zambia! Day three of our Victoria Falls Tour Package includes canoeing on the Zambezi, visiting Victoria Falls waterfall, and a local cultural experience. This morning we set off on our half-day canoeing trip on the Upper Zambezi River, above the spectacular Victoria Falls. Canoeing is the best way to explore the scenic Upper Zambezi River area. After a safety briefing by the professional river guide and a quick practice session on the water, the paddle begins. This is not a challenging paddle, navigating only small, easy rapids, and no canoeing experience is required. We take a lazy paddle down the Upper Zambezi, looking out for hippos, buffalos, crocodiles, elephants, kudus, impalas, and other untamed creatures along the banks. Canoeing along the river is also a great way to spot birds, look out for the powerful Martial Eagle, among the over 50 bird species commonly sighted. Canoeing along the river we pass national parks on the Zimbabwean banks and pristine bush on the Zambian side. This gentle paddle is all about soaking up the beautiful scenery and enjoying the local fauna and flora up close. Afterward, there's time for a picnic lunch on the riverbank. Guided Victoria Falls Tour This afternoon the adventure continues with a guided tour of Vic Falls, led by an experienced and knowledgeable local guide. We walk through lush rainforests on the Zambian side of Vic Falls visiting vantage points for spectacular views of this natural wonder. The walk takes us across Knife Edge Bridge and through the forest, hosting plant species rarely found in other parts of Zambia or Zimbabwe. During peak season we can even feel the spray of the “Smoke that Thunders” as Vic Falls is called. Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, is an awe-inspiring sight to behold, especially when the Zambezi water levels are high. Considered the largest waterfall in the world, the falls plummet 100 m into the gorge below and span 1,5 km across. About 550 million liters of water flow over Vic Falls per minute. The skilled guide explains the geology of Victoria Falls and tells you more about this epic waterfall as you walk.

Botswana/Victoria Falls Exposee

This exclusive camping safari takes you to three of the top wildlife areas in Botswana, as well as Victoria Falls in Zambia. Departing from Maun we travel to Moremi Game Reserve and the Savuti Marsh - both renowned for some of the best game viewing in Africa. Game viewing in these two wilderness reserves will be done in open-sided 4x4 game viewing vehicles. We then embark on a game drive and sunset boat cruise in Chobe National Park, home to some of the largest elephant herds in Africa, together with a rich array of other wildlife and birds. Then we cross into Zambia where we visit Victoria Falls, enjoy optional activities and spend two nights camping on the banks of the Zambezi River. The Botswana Highlights & Victoria Falls Safari ends in Livingstone, on the Zambian side of the Falls. Day 1: MAUN - BOTSWANA [camping] Our Southern African adventure begins in Maun, a small town located on the south-eastern edge of the Okavango Delta. Maun serves as our access point to prime wilderness areas of Botswana. For the more adventurous of heart there is a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (own expense). The day ends with a relaxing sundowner drink at the pool, and a meal in the lodge restaurant (own expense), celebrating the start of our journey into game-rich Botswana. Day 2 - 5: MOREMI & SAVUTI - BOTSWANA [camping BLD] (B=breakfast, L= lunch, D= dinner) We spend the next 4 nights in the Moremi and Savuti game parks allowing plenty of time to explore their various wild habitats. We take game drives in search of the abundance of wildlife found in these top wilderness areas, including wild dog, elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion & other game. Moremi Game Reserve rates as one of the leading wildlife areas of the world and we take our open 4x4 safari vehicle into Moremi for fantastic game viewing! Grasslands, floodplains, forests, lily lagoons and winding water channels combine to form a variety of rewarding game viewing habitats. Moving north we cross a sandy ridge and make our way into the Mababe depression arriving at the Savuti Marsh. This open grassland area attracts herds of zebra and wildebeest, which in turn draw the large lion prides for which Savuti is famous. In the Savuti area we camp at one of the accessible Savuti campsites or at the Zwei-Zwei Pans. The private campsite at Zwei-Zwei Pans lies about 20km north east of Savuti and offers a more wild bush camping experience than camping in the national park itself. Day 6 - 7: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK - BOTSWANA [camping BLD/BL] The Chobe River flows lazily along the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park attracting some of the largest herds of elephant in Africa. We embark on an early morning game drive in search of wildlife in Chobe, returning to camp for brunch. In the late afternoon we set off on a game viewing sunset cruise on Chobe River. Chobe offers some of Africa's best water-based game viewing, as the Chobe River attracts large herds of elephants, as well as a various other wild animals and numerous birds. We camp near Kasane along the Chobe River on night 7 of this Botswana Safari. Day 8 - 9: VICTORIA FALLS - LIVINGSTONE [camping B] For our last 2 nights we stay in a lodge in Zambia, near Livingstone town on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Walk through the tropical vegetation to the very edge of Victoria Falls, locally called “Mosi oa Tunya”, which means “the smoke that thunders”. Here you have the option of participating in a variety of adventure activities, including white water rafting on the mighty Zambezi River, bungi jumping, or taking the scenic “flight of angels” over Vic Falls (own expense).
