Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Livingstone

Welcome to Zambia! On arrival at Livingstone Airport, someone will be there to greet you and help you transfer to your accommodation. Depending on the time of arrival and how much energy you have, you can take the afternoon or evening to explore this friendly city. Head to the Livingston Museum, the oldest and largest in the country, shop for handmade crafts or try the local food.

Day 2: Zambezi River Canoeing & Sunset Cruise

Early in the morning, you will be transferred to the meeting point for a hearty breakfast before starting your half-day canoeing tour on the Zambezi River. The river is the fourth-longest in the continent and the longest African river that flows into the Indian Ocean. In the afternoon, you will be picked up for a 2-hour sunset cruise on a 5-star boat. Witness the majestic display of colors as you enjoy a selection of local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as freshly prepared light snacks. At night, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3: Victoria Falls Tour & Transfer to Lusaka

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side. Considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World, this majestic waterfall is the largest on the planet. Victoria Falls is one of the most famed attractions in Zambia—and all of Africa! It received its westernized name from David Livingston himself in honor of the Queen of England. Its native name is Mosi-o-Tunya, or “The smoke that thunders.” Locals often use this name. Once you have taken in this breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will go back to Livingstone to catch a flight to Lusaka. On arrival to the Zambian capital, a representative will take you to your accommodation. If you have energy, we recommend heading out into downtown and exploring some of Lusaka's thriving markets for food and crafts.

Day 4: Lusaka Transfer to South Luangwa National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Lusaka Airport to board a flight to South Luangwa, home of its homonym national park. On arrival, you will be transferred to a campground near South Luangwa National Park. At night, you will be able to enjoy local meals and drinks, relaxing with the sounds of nature.

Days 5-6: South Luangwa National Park Safari

For two days, you will rise early and venture into the magnificent South Luangwa National Park to participate in professionally-guided game viewing activities. Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, hyenas, impalas, buffalos, and more. The park is teeming with wildlife, which experienced guides will help you spot. South Luangwa National Park is also unique because of endemic three subspecies: Thornicroft's giraffes, Cookson's wildebeests, and Crawshay's zebras. It is also one of the few parks in Africa that allows night drives— a unique and exciting safari experience. Depending on the weather and time of year, you might be able to participate in a walking safari. These provide a fascinating, more detailed view of park ecology and wildlife.
